Sharogle undergoing makeover

As many of you may have noticed Google stopped serving ads to us because they figured that we were in breach of their Adsense TOS. While we continue to wonder about the accuracy of their conclusions we have decided to look elsewhere, so we can continue with our business. To see how much progress we have made since our launch on May 29, 2007 take a look at our Alexa ranking.

We sincerely ask that you please bare with us as we move through the current transformation process. In the mean time you are welcome to register and search as usual.

Here are some of the changes you should see:

1. Design: This has been altered slightly and a few more alterations are expected.

2. Partnerships: We are working with some of the top players in the market for delivering the best quality search results and content. You will see web search results now, but down the road you would also see News and Shopping results, etc.

3. Member's Income Calculations: Since we are no longer using Google we obviously had to make some changes. Members will be paid on a per-search basis, but every single search will be monitored to prevent fraudulent searches and clicks and adjustments to your account will be made if needed. You will not benefit from trying to fool the system, so please be aware that once you are caught you will be banned. No questions asked!

4. Payout Options: We are now responsible for paying you and we have decided to use Paypal and Check options to pay you. We may be experimenting with minimum payout amounts for each option so, please bare with us as we try and find the best solution. Also, we may add other payment options in the future.

5. Invite: We added the plaxo address book importer feature that allows you to import contacts from Aol, Hotmail, Gmail, Yahoo, Outlook/Outlook Express and Plaxo. This feature will help you to spread the word about sharogle and help you to build your referral base. The invite message will automatically include your referral URL.

Make Sharogle Your Home Page (Internet Explorer)

Go to the Tools menu and choose Internet Options.
See the box marked Home Page? Type "www.sharogle.com" in the address box.
Click OK.

Make Sharogle Your Home Page (AOL)

Click the Settings button.
Click the Internet [Web] Options link (if you don't see this link, click the Essentials tab).
See the box marked Home Page? Type "www.sharogle.com" in the address box.
Click OK.

Make Sharogle Your Home Page (Firefox)

On Windows, choose Options from the Tools menu. On a Mac, choose Preferences from the Firefox menu.
Click the General category.
See the box marked Home Page? Type "www.sharogle.com" in the location box.
Click OK.

Make Sharogle Your Home Page (Safari)

Choose Preferences from the Safari menu.
Click the General button.
Type "www.sharogle.com" in the box labeled Home Page.
Click the red button to close the window.

Choose Preferences from the Tools menu.
